My name is Ali Mohammed M., and I am reaching out to you from Gaza, where survival has become a daily struggle.

Over the past year and a half, my family and I have experienced unimaginable pain. We have endured bombings, hunger, displacement, and deep personal loss. I’ve done my best to share what is happening here through my Instagram: @AliGaza96

Our wedding was originally planned for November 26, 2023, but the war forced us to delay it. During that time, I lost my grandparents, three cousins, and many close friends.

Eventually, we got married on May 18, 2024. It wasn’t the wedding we had dreamed of, but a way to survive and hold on to love amid the chaos, surrounded by the people who matter most. Today, my wife and I are living with my parents, as we lost our apartment and I lost my job.

We stayed in Gaza City, located in the north of the Gaza Strip, where the suffering, starvation, and attacks were at their worst. My father and I often risked our lives just to bring a few kilograms of wheat to feed our family.

My wife was injured early in the war, and although she is still with me, she continues to suffer from the effects. A f
